An Introduction to Eclipse - The universal tool platform.
Eclipse is an open extensible IDE - Originally donated to the open source
community by IBM, it has flourish and become the primer IDE for many
programmers around the world. It supports many programming languages,
for example Java, C/C++, Cobol, Python, Perl, Php and many others. Come
and learn about what Eclipse is, its architecture and where it is going,
also a demo of the Java Development Tools, C development tools and many
other features. I will also be happy to answer questions on Java VM on
Linux, and other topics related to developing Java program on Linux.

Introduction to Syllable
Syllable is an Open Source Operating System which aimsfor Intel x86. The
goal of Syllable is to create a reliable and easy to use Open Source
Operating System for the home and small office user. Syllable is currently
under development, but it is stable and relativly mature, with a number
of useful applications already available. Syllable supports a wide range
of common hardware devices, including video, network and sound cards from
manufacturers such as Intel, AMD,3Com, nVidia and Creative.
Fast Loading
is one of the key features of Syllable. Also, it integrates GUI into Kernel
that provided efficient and standard User Interface. A Number of Open
Source Softwares have ported to Syllable like Apache, PHP, Emacs, etc.

About the Speakers
About Mr. Sunny Chan
Mr. Chan is a software engineer working in e-business Integration Technology,
IBM Hursley Software Development Laboratory, near Winchester, United
Kingdom. He graduated from Imperial College, London in 2001 with a
Master of Engineering in Computing, and have been working in IBM since
graduation. He is currently involving in the project to develop and test
the IBM Java VM, and also IBM Websphere SDK for Web Services.
Mr. Chan is also a Redhat Certified Engineer, and have been using Linux
since the days of Linux Kernel 1.0.

About Mr. Hilary Cheng
Mr. Cheng has been work in IT for 6 years and now is a embedded
software engineer of a Local POS
Company. He first use Linux since Redhat 4.0 and change to
Debian GNU/Linux now. He is also one of the commitee of
Hong Kong PalmPilot User Group (HKPUG)
.
Recently, he is developing driver for Syllable and ported
S3 Savage XFree86 Driver to Syllable successfully.
